Heaton Sports Club is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of all its members.

Heaton Sports Club believes that it is important that members including children and visitors should at all times show respect and understanding for the safety and welfare of others.

Therefore, it is encouraged to be open at all times and to share any concerns or complaints that they may have about any aspect of the club with the Club Safeguarding Officer or Deputy in their absence and the person in charge at the time.

As a member/visitor of Heaton Sports Club you are expected to abide by this policy:

  1. Children are allowed to enter and remain on the premises until 9.00pm [discretion by the person in charge applies should there be a need] and must be accompanied by a parent/guardian or responsible adult at all times;
  2. The Business Manager and/or representative member of bar staff has the right to ask an adult and/or child[ren] to leave should they see fit to do so;
  3. It is the responsibility of the parent/guardian and or responsible adult to ensure that their child/children are well behaved at all times and do not disrupt other people or have disregard for the club property;
  4. It is a legal offence, if in charge of your own or a child[children], to be intoxicated;
  5. All members must respect the rights, dignity and worth of all regardless of gender, ability, cultural background or religion, nationality, colour, parental or marital status, class or social background, sexual preference or political belief; the club will not condone or allow to go unchallenged any form of discrimination;
  6. Children should not be provided with or allowed to consume alcohol or drugs of any kind on the club premises or whilst representing the club.
  7. It is an offence for anyone to be using or be provided with any form of illegal substance at this club or on its grounds. The club adheres to a zero tolerance policy in relation to this.
