Cricket has been at the heart of Heaton Sports Club for more than 140 years. Founded as Heaton Cricket Club in 1882, we continue to build on our proud history by providing opportunities for players of all ages and abilities to enjoy the game in a welcoming, competitive and supportive environment.
From first-time players taking part in ECB All Stars Cricket to experienced senior cricketers competing in the Greater Manchester Cricket League, we are committed to developing talent, promoting teamwork and creating a lifelong love of cricket.

Our senior section proudly fields three teams competing in the Greater Manchester Cricket League, offering opportunities for players to develop, compete and enjoy cricket at every level.
Our teams combine experienced cricketers with talented young players progressing through our junior pathway, creating a strong club culture built on teamwork, commitment and sportsmanship.
Throughout the season, members and supporters enjoy competitive league fixtures, cup competitions and social cricket, all played in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.

Our junior section is one of the fastest-growing parts of the club and provides a structured pathway for young players to learn, improve and enjoy cricket.
We currently offer junior teams at:
- Under 9s
- Under 11s
- Under 13s
- Under 15s
- Under 18s
Our dedicated coaches work with players to develop technical skills, confidence, teamwork and a lifelong enjoyment of the game in a safe and encouraging environment.
Our commitment to junior development has been rewarded with outstanding success, including our Under 13s becoming Champions of Champions, Under 13 West Division 1 Winners and Under 13 Main Cup Winners.

ECB All Stars Cricket is designed specifically for children aged 5–8 who are new to the game.
Through fun games, exciting activities and qualified coaching, children develop fundamental cricket skills while building confidence, making new friends and enjoying being part of a team.
No previous cricket experience is needed, making All Stars the ideal first step into the sport.
Parents are encouraged to get involved and enjoy the experience alongside their children, creating lasting memories both on and off the field.

We’re incredibly proud to be developing opportunities for girls to play cricket at Heaton Sports Club.
Following the success of our girls’ Dynamos programme, we’ve launched our first girls’ cricket section, welcoming girls aged 7–12 who want to learn, develop and enjoy the game in a supportive and inclusive environment.
Girls’ cricket continues to grow across the UK, and we’re excited to play our part in inspiring the next generation of female players.
