Filming and Photography Policy

Heaton Sports Club is keen to promote positive images of children playing cricket and engaging in a healthy active lifestyle.  Heaton Sports Club is not preventing the use of photographic or recording equipment, however, the safeguarding of our juniors is paramount.

On enrolment to Heaton Sports Club, a parent/guardian must tick the relevant box on the junior cricket registration form which indicates whether or not that junior may be photographed or videoed.  The Safeguarding Officer will relay that information to the relevant coaches.  If the relevant section of the registration form is not filled in, Heaton Sports Club will assume that the junior is not eligible to appear in any club photography or videos (including any streaming).

Should a photograph of a junior cricket team at Heaton Sports Club get published in a local newspaper, best practice is for the children’s names to be omitted. Any child without consent must not appear in the press under any circumstances.

Guiding Principles

  • Photographs and images can only be taken at matches and training when prior permission from a parent/guardian has been given, and the registration form is signed.
  • All juniors to be informed that a person may/will be taking photographs or videoing.
  • If the opposing team/club are taking photographs or recording, the relevant person from their team MUST be made aware that one of our juniors has not given consent and/or permission so that photographs/videos are not taken of that particular child.
  • The junior will be informed that if they have any concerns, they can report this to the coach, cricket team manager or welfare officer confidentially.
  • Any concerns regarding inappropriate or intrusive photography should be reported to the Safeguarding officer.
  • All juniors that are photographed or videoed representing Heaton Cricket Club must be in the appropriate branded kit.
